Apple River ITEP Grant Project
The Village of Apple River is seeking ITEP Grant funding for a project that will provide and support connected alternate modes of transportation that are safe for all users, enhance the transportation system of the Village, and improve the quality of life for members of our community. This funding will meet the pedestrian/bicycle transportation needs of our community while providing a more effective connection to community resources like our recreational parks, residential neighborhoods, churches, food pantry, downtown businesses, Post Office, and Bank.
This project will improve the walkability of the community by replacing crumbling, dangerous, and deteriorating sidewalks that cannot be utilized safely for people to travel throughout the community. While the Village needs new sidewalks throughout the entire Village, this grant project is just phase one. Please see the proposed pedestrian path below, along with links to a project survey and place where you can provide a Letter of Support for the project. All survey responses and Letters of Support received will be included in the Village’s ITEP application.
